The Final Tapes was the first of many posthumous Saint Vitus albums. After Corinne left the band, Henri called his former Feedback bandmate Rene to pick up the pieces while the iron was still hot. There was a back-up catalogue of the duo and the new management saw the potential of what became known as the "Saint Vitus III' formation. Unfortunately, only two sessions of this formation were recorded with Lucy on backing vocals on the second session. In a way, Lucy got her moment of fame when she sang the definitive version of 'Going Out'. Rene came up with four new songs: Pulsion, Dig it, Get on Down and I Believe in You. The album was originally released as a C90 music-cassette and therefore, there was room for some alternate takes from the concerts for the previous 'On Stage' album. A new rehearsal version from 'Get That Funk' was added as an opener for the set, so a short second live-set from the Saint Vitus II formation was on offer here. All in all an interesting album as a whole. Apparently Nutking Records took the originals from this album to put them on the B-side of the 'Make your Move' album. Probably a sign they will not reissue this album.
