Generally not seen as a
genuine release, but
contains some true Saint
Vitus recordings.
'Saint Vitus at Sandwijck' was an attempt from Bounty records to put together an album of loose ends from the Saint Vitus-saga, just when they had negotiated the rights to the full recorded output of the group. This is a questionable release and we can't be sure of the origine from about half the tracks. One comes to ask himself: 'when do we call a track a Saint Vitus tune? What members do we need in the band to call it Saint Vitus?' Nevertheless there are some fine moments on this album for the die-hard fan. However, this album is not recommended as an introduction to the band. You better listen to 'Kill Saint Vitus' or 'Make Your Move'. Nutking Records didn't reissue the album yet but have stated that maybe in 2022 a 30th anniversary remaster could be a good idea. They promised that if they do, they will have a serious look at the tracklist. Bounty Records did release two versions on CD, both missing a track due to the limitations of the one CD version. The first one lacked 'Dish Dixo' and the second one lacked 'December'. Why did they do that? You might ask. It currently appears one of the musicians claimed 'Dish Dixo' had nothing to do with Saint Vitus. It was recorded around 1986 and it is known Henri and Peter were recording at Hank Vogels' 'Line-up' Studio. They recorded the Single 'I'm Scared/Flageo'. On the tape, labeled 'Saint Vitus in Line Up' also 'Dish Dixo' was found, with a mix of drumcompter, Keyboards, Bass and some Guitar (buried deeply in the mix). The Bass-part however could not be identified as being played by Peter and it is now considered likely the tune was a project from Just Hank and Henri with the latter playing the bass in the absence of Peter. So the CD burning was stopped and only a few Items were already circulating. A second edition with 'December' instead was then burned to form the bulk of the release. This recording was done with (again) Henri on Bass, Hans on Keyboards and Peter on Drums. Nutking Records still released a 30th anniversary edition with an extra track and a different running order.
